⚓ The Wreck of the London The ship was carrying French aristocrats, soldiers, prisoners, and enslaved people fleeing the French Revolution when it struck the rocks near Rapparee Cove. Many passengers drowned in the rough waters, and the tragedy left a lasting mark on local history.
💀 Discovery of Human Remains In 1997, a storm revealed skeletal remains buried beneath the sands, believed to be those of enslaved individuals and passengers from the London. These discoveries reignited historical interest in the cove’s dark past.
